Ansell Encore® gloves are Highquality
surgical gloves perfectly
matching all surgical needs and
preferences. Encore® gloves benefit
from Ansell Healthcare’s long
experience and ongoing research
into improved hand protection for
healthcare workers.
In Encore® gloves, advanced
technology supports surgical
performance while keeping the
wearer safe. Moreover, users
appreciate the comfort, dexterity
and easy donning. Made on special
anatomic formers, Encore® gloves
provide better comfort and less
hand fatigue. Special features
ensure better grip and instrument
handling. In addition, the
manufacturing process guarantees
low allergenicity.
Low allergenicityEncore® surgical gloves have very low
protein content. This is a result of the
lengthy leaching processes using the
Protein and Endogenous Allergen
Reduction Leaching (P.E.A.R.L)
technology, and of repeated rinsing
cycles. Protein content is measured
using the HPLC and Modified Lowry
methods.
Other low-allergenic features include
reduced chemical residues and
thiuram- and MBT-free, skin-friendly
formulations. In addition, the inner
coating acts as a protective shield,
reducing contact with potential latex
allergens. To prevent Type I and
minimise the risk of Type IV allergic
reactions, Encore® Ultra is produced
with a latex-free and accelerator-free
formulation.
Comfort and fitEncore® gloves are produced on
Ansell anatomic formers with
carefully defined latex formulations.
This offers good comfort, flexibility
and elasticity, as well as a more
natural fit that reduces hand fatigue.
Safety and protectionUsers of Encore® gloves benefit from
a high level of safety. AQL quality
inspections are conducted before,
during and after final packaging. This
guarantees a low risk of pinholes and
high barrier protection. The range of
tests includes GL I AQL 0.65 (waterleak
test) during production and GL I
AQL1.0 (water-leak test) before final
packaging. Additionally, ASTM F-1671
bacteriophage testing confirms the
gloves’ resistance to viral
penetration. Resistant to alcoholbased
hand disinfectants, Ansell’s
proprietary polyurethane inner
coating will not break down, providing
another layer of safety between the
skin and the glove.
Encore® technologyThanks to a micro-rough textured
outer surface, Encore® gloves provide
a secure grip in wet or dry
conditions to facilitate the most
delicate instrument handling. During
production, grip values are monitored
through friction tests on line and
during post-processing.
For easy donning, even with damp
hands, Encore® powder-free models
are made with an exclusive
polyurethane inner coating. This
synthetic, water-based coating
maintains its integrity over time,
even during long procedures, and
facilitates double gloving (when extra
safety is required).
Ansells’ SureFit™ technology
overcomes the “cuff roll-down”
typically experienced while wearing
impervious surgical gowns designed
to prevent fluid penetration. By
maintaining the surgical glove
securely around the arm, SureFit™
technology protects the integrity of
the sterile field by shielding the gown
cuff. This ensures the efficacy of the
surgical glove as a barrier protection.
Ansell Healthcare: A worldwide leader in hand protection for healthcare practitioners
Ansell has spearheaded innovation in the field since launching the first disposable surgical
gloves in the 1950s. Later, the company pioneered the marketing of synthetic, accelerator-free
surgical gloves. More recently Ansell has played a major role in the switchover from
powdered to powder-free gloves and from powder-free to synthetic gloves. The company’s
R&D department is also engaged in ongoing research to develop the next generations of
natural latex and synthetic products. All these achievements have contributed to Ansell’s
solid reputation as a manufacturer and supplier of high-quality, innovative medical gloves.
