Select from the drop-down list above the Oil Environment and the Cut Risk matching your requirements.
This page will then automatically show you, next to the chosen codes, the HyFlex glove reference that best meets your needs.
By clicking on that reference you will get detailed information about the recommended HyFlex glove.
The HyFlex Coding System : what is it?
The HyFlex coding system is a useful tool to help you determine the optimal glove for each job. It offers a practical selection matrix that is based on the two primary requirements of most applications:
The required level of cut resistance
The presence or absence of oil, and in what proportion within the work environment.
These factors will define our recommendation, directly related to:
the fibres used in the glove liner
the formulation of the coating
the porosity degree of the coating
the coverage of the coating.
The HyFlex Coding System : what does it mean?
Dry: Dry environment
Slightly Oily: Some pieces are slightly oily
Moderately Oily: Light film of oil on most or all pieces
No Cut Risk
Cut Risk 1: Fine assembly, packing-unpacking, mounting of finished products from white goods to automotive components and other equipment. Logistic duties: e.g. carrying cartons, picking orders.
Cut Risk 2: Previous applications where dexterity and flexibility remain important factors, with manipulation of sharp edged but small parts in metal or glass and other assembly applications.
Cut Risk 3: Previous applications in sub-assembly of metallic elements (machinery, engineering, structured metal, stamping of medium sized parts, maintenance in heavy machinery and tooling); assembly in glass industry; other logistic operations in similar environments.
Cut Risk 4: Construction of sub-assembly in body shops; handling, loading, unloading glass or metal sheets. Handling knives in plastic injection moulding.
Cut Risk 5: Handling sharp elements in both metal and glass production, transformation with an intensive production process and a demanding environment: metal fabrication, glass cutting, body assembly ...
